Whiteworks

White acts on our souls like a deep, absolute silence, full of possibility. (Kandiski) As I travelled to different places, it imposed itself on me.

Both an illuminator of colour and revealer of the absence of colour, white is an inexhaustible source of inspiration, and it gave rise to a prolific production of paintings.

The first works in this collection are inspired by the Taj Mahal, which is made of white gold-streaked marble and decorated in some places with multi-coloured stones. The series also includes several depictions of Egypt’s White Desert; a blend of shadows and burnt sienna in an infinite sea of pale sand.

The Miami skyscrapers complete the collection with their immaculate facades against a background of blue sky, which are lit up with little red lights at night. So far, Whiteworks includes about one hundred paintings that vary in texture and luminosity, each of them unique. I will gradually add others to this series, which I hope will be infinite.
